Designed and made by Denver artist Madeline Cohen, Madeline.DTMG is a synthesis of metal-smithing practices and archival jewelry aesthetics to produce tactile, textural experiences in metal. I began casting my own designs in 2024, making one-of-a-kind jewelry from silver, brass, and precious gemstones.
Madeline.DTMG is a cauldron of practices in textile design and wearable art, with jewelry that is hand-made to incorporate mineral textures and playful references that are juicy, molten, spiky, and earthen. The softness found in unlocking sentimental memories as well as the theme of celestial excavation are main sources of exploration in my work.
From hand-sculpting wax molds cast using the lost-wax casting technique to forming individual necklace chain links, all of the elements of my work are created on a 1-of-1 basis. My design practice is largely informed by aesthetics that strike me as both spiritual and archaic. Through depicting references such as wrought-iron gates or the softness of a rabbit, I am for Madeline.DTMG jewelry to communicate a timeless, divine, and protective relationship with terrestrial and celestial elements, space, and creatures.
Made-To-Order Jewelry
I handmake and cast all jewelry. Please allow 1-3 weeks production time for jewelry indicated as "Made-To-Order" to be cast, fabricated, and finished.
Commissioned Jewelry Design
All custom jewelry orders must provide a deposit (25-50% of total cost) at the time of ordering.
